Quick notes

215.8 (whew!)

1. Reading In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto has inspired me to start eating healthier once again. I've been adding more whole foods to my diet. . . . mainly fruits & veggies. As a result (and having gone to the gym twice this week), my weight is down from a scary 218.4 on Monday.

2. For years Sebastian has positioned himself on the bathmat while I shower. Now when I get out of the shower in the mornings, here is the scene in the bathroom:

3. Hunter has kennel cough. Though we didn't know it until Monday, he was briefly exposed in his foster home and started coughing during the night on Tuesday/early Wednesday. Except for having the characteristic cough, he doesn't seem very sick: he's eating and has a normal energy level. but went to the vet and is now on antibiotics and a cough suppressant. So far, Sebastian is healthy, and though kennel cough is highly contagious, the vet said that some dogs never catch it even if exposed. We are optimistic that that will be the case with Sebastian.

4. Off to San Antonio tomorrow night. Saturday's forecast calls for a record high of 98. Ugh.

Oh, they are so CUTE!!! I love 'em!

Gracie had Kennel cough recently. She gets vaccinated for it, but I guess there are so many different strains that the vaccine doesn't always work. Anyway, before I even had a chance to take her to the vet, she was over it -- just a few days -- so I'm sure your boy will be fine! It was really alarming at first though until I figured out what it was -- seemed like she had something stuck in her throat!

The dogs are so cute. Katie lays on whatever bath rug is most in my way - usually the one in front of my sink and mirror, so I have to work around her to get ready in the morning or give up completely and use Scott's side to finish.

I love the dog pic! Doc used to LOVE to join me in the bathroom (though he would just bust in, stick his head through the shower curtain, then leave when he'd had his fill. lol), but Darren hated it. Glad MM doesn't give you grief about Golden-haired bathmats. :)

Very cute picture-I'm so glad the two boys are getting along and that S. can share!

What's wrong? 98 too cold for you??? I thought Phoenix was pretty hot this time of year?

That's quite an adorable bathmat!

I hope you had fun in San Antonio - I really want to visit it at some point and be a tourist.

And yes, 98 was around the norm this past weekend! :(
