Bitter, party of one

OK, one more thing. In the records and documents I am reviewing, the (baby) plaintiff's mother is, understandably, frequently referenced. Mom is a 24-year-old Mexican national living illegally in this country. She has an 8th grade education (all courtesy of American public schools).

Normally I could care less what someone's legal status or education level is. I'm really not one to get up in arms about people who come to live here without proper documentation. But I find myself offended by this woman because she is unmarried and has four children (including the plaintiff).

Four children. By age 24. And here I sit at age almost-38--educated, employed, married--with none.

Yeah, I'd say I'm getting bitter.

I'm going to ignore my head, which is telling me to say something comforting, and go with my heart and say (1)That sucks, (2)You have every right to be bitter and (3) life doesn't f-ing make sense most of the damn time. I mean, I'm not trying to open a Pandora's box, but a certain unnamed mom with 14 children on welfare? When I see so many worth people aching to be parents, I have to believe that God either has a strange sense of humore, or perhaps he's napping on the job.

I am honestly going to go the route of I totally think its unfair, but as we both know few things in life are ever totally fair.... I don't know if there is anything comforting that anyone can say. I think you've earned the right to be a little bitter.

If it is any encouragement at all.... Two years ago I not only was childless, I didn't even have a husband....and I was 42. So, though the situation can suck, it can also change at any moment.
